Lead Project Engineer

Friendly client is looking for a Lead Project Engineer who will play a key role in driving project execution excellence, supporting company leadership, and continuously improving processes through standardisation.
🚀 Your Role & Responsibilities
As a Lead Project Engineer, you will be responsible for both people leadership and project engineering governance, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and according to agreed quality standards.
Your responsibilities will include:
Line management and leadership of a team of ~10 Project Engineers
Managing and balancing engineers’ workload and priorities
Organising, reporting, and participating in project-related meetings - including weekly alignment sessions with all Project Engineers
Providing continuous support, guidance, mentoring, and feedback to the team
Managing and resolving customer project escalations related to engineering topics
Reviewing, improving, and maintaining project procedures and workflows in cooperation with the Technical Writer
Supporting go-to-market initiatives and the development of new services
Ensuring strict adherence to internal processes and methodologies, with a strong focus on standardisation
Acting as a trusted partner to company leadership on all project engineering matters (customer & internal projects)
🧠 Required qualifications & experience:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Master’s degree preferred)
Minimum 3+ years of experience in a team lead or managerial role
Experience in a technical IT support or engineering environment is a strong advantage
Solid understanding of project management tools and methodologies
International work experience and willingness to travel to HQ up to 4 times per year (approx. 10 days per trip)
Proven people management skills: performance evaluation, mentoring, coaching, and feedback
Ability to delegate effectively while maintaining operational and quality control
Experience with budget oversight and risk management
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Strong leadership, conflict management, and negotiation skills

Working model:
